Changes in our showroom!
Our office staff is constantly stirring things up in our showroom, and this time they’ve taken a step back in time…well, sort of. Many of you may remember that our beautiful farmtop table has been on display in our breezeway for the last several months. Now, we’ve moved the rustic show-stopper inside and adorned it with a beautiful natural linen runner, vintage mismatched china, nobby juice glasses and more. It really is a site to see, and for those of you that just can’t quite understand the hot new vintage/rustic trend, you really should swing by and see what the fuss is all about! We’d love to show you how to do it up right!

Feeling Blue?
One of the color trends we’re seeing for 2012 is the comeback of navy…navy walls, navy furniture and TONS of weddings where navy blue takes center stage (after the bride, of course!). We’ve pulled a few of our favorite images showing ways to use this jewel-toned beauty. Take a look at our inspiration pics, and be sure to schedule an appointment to stop by our showroom to see the blue pieces we have to offer!

Uses for Lanterns
Some of our newer clients may not realize that Classical Tents is ALWAYS expanding our product line, but this is one of the things that keeps our “regulars” coming back for more. Kat purchases fun, new items frequently, as a way of keeping everything fresh, updated and cutting-edge. One of the rental accessories that has been quite popular is our metal lantern, which we now carry in multiple sizes. Brides have opted to use these as aisle markers, walkway lighting, in tablescapes and more, and we now also carry 12 foot staffs (or shepherd hooks) from which to hang them, and this opens up all sorts of new possibilities! Take a look at some of the following images for some inspiration on how you might use our lanterns in your next event (one of my personal faves is the one where the bridesmaids are carrying small lanterns in lieu of bouquets…how beautiful for an evening wedding!).

This takes the cake!
So as we’ve mentioned in some earlier posts, we’ve been looking around the showroom and noticing the many products we have to offer that have multiple uses. Today, we’re paying special attention to the Cake Stand. And while it’s pretty obvious that a cake stand is used to hold and display cake, did you know that you could also use it as a candle holder? How about as your centerpiece? We’ve seen more and more weddings that have pies and cakes at each table, as the centerpiece, instead of one giant cake at the front of the room (kill two birds with one stone?). Some brides are opting for a candy “bar” or a dessert table, which presents a whole bunch of different uses for cake stands. Take a look at some of the interesting photos we’ve found showing the many ways you can use this surprisingly versatile piece!

Wedding Colors 2012
One of the benefits of our Pinterest addiction is having a huge resource of creative ideas for your party or wedding. One of our favorite Pinterest users is The Perfect Palette, a wedding blog dedicated to exploring the many color combinations you can use for your event. Though the possibilities are truly limitless, we’ve picked out a sampling of our favorites, along with some color trends we’re spotting for the upcoming wedding season (it’ll be here before you know it!). At Classical Tents, we’re constantly updating our table linens and rental accessories to reflect the colors of the season, along with beautiful new fabrics and unique decor…if we don’t have it, they probably don’t make it! (But feel free to ask us to look for something if you can’t find it in our vast selection!)

Ode to the Mason Jar
Okay, so some of us in the office have a newly-formed addiction to Pinterest (can anyone out there relate?), and the other day, Michele said, “Why don’t we give our readers some ideas for the different ways they can use some of our rental accessories?” And so it is that we begin with the humble (and very versatile) mason jar… Sure, you can use them to drink out of and of course, to store your canned goods (please send us your homemade peach jelly!), but have you ever thought to use them as a vase? As an aisle marker? A chandelier? A table number? Or Heaven-forbid, a beautiful, elegant centerpiece? Take a look at the many uses we found, below…we’re pretty sure you won’t just be thinking “utilitarian” any more!

Advantages of the Clearspan structure tents
Last week we talked a little about our structure tents, so we thought we’d continue with a little more about our Clearspan tents!
- Unlike most manufacturers, our Clearspan structures are made with coated vinyl fabric. Coated fabric is far superior to laminated fabrics, in that it is more resistant to abrasion, stains, rot, mildew, cold cracks and generally has a longer life.
- Tensioned roof panels give the tent a solid look as well as eliminating roof panel flapping and bagging due to winds and rain. The tensioning system also holds the roof panels tight against the frame to reduce heat loss as well as keeping rain and wind out. This also aids tremendously wen using air conditioning or heating units.
- Tensioned sidewalls eliminate the need for staking or tying the sidewall down to keep it from flapping in the wind. The sidewall is also made to slide open or closed as needed. This makes closing the tent or opening the tent extremely easy and fast.
- Design characteristics allow the frame to remain standing while the fabric roof and sides are removed for winter storage/washing. This also dramatically reduces installation/takedown costs after the initial installation. It also reduces unnecessary wear and tear as a result of setting-up and taking down.
- Engineering data is available on all our Clearspan tents to show compliance with building code requirements for wind loads and fire resistance.
- Accessories are available and include integrated flooring system, liners, doors, hard sides, window and clear walls. Also available are tents of different shapes such as hexagon, octagon, dodecagon, peaked roof panels, gable and hip ends and much more.
- Our Clearspan tents are designed to be trouble free and long lasting, as well as being extremely resistant to the forces of nature.
- No ropes are required, as the anchoring is achieved by driving stakes through base plates located at each leg. Other means of anchoring, such as weighting or bolting, are possible when staking is not an option.
- Clearspan structure tents are modular in length and their length can be increased or decreased at any time without dismantling the entire tent!
- Clearspan tents do not have any center poles or internal columns. They provide clear, unobstructed space and range in width from 10 feet to 132 feet in width!
- Clearspan tents offer the maximum amount of protection one can get while still being in a tent. Their fast installation, removal, mobility and superior weather protection qualities make them a superb alternative to traditional tents and temporary buildings.

A Little Trivia about Structure Tents…
- Structures do not have any center poles. This is a particular advantage for Classical Tents because we are the only ones in the area with 40′ wide frame/structure type tents.
- Structure tents have tensioned side panels. The sidewall panels slide into channels in the frame and tension down to prevent them from flapping in the wind. This also provides for less heat loss in early and late season rentals, and also gives a clean, wrinkle-free, solid look to the tent.
- Structure tents have tensioned roof panels. The tensioning eliminates any flapping from wind and eliminates the possibility of water pockets in severe rainy conditions.
- Structure tents do not have ropes. The lack of ropes reduces any trip hazards and also provides for a clean look.
- Structure tents can be installed with weights for anchoring (instead of stakes). If stakes cannot be used at your site, we can use weights to provide anchoring. This is achieved with a 30 gallon white barrel filled with concrete. The barrel is about 18″ in diameter and 32″ high.
- Structure tents provide the most protection from the weather. Because of the tensioned walls, roof panels, engineering to meet 70 MPH wind loads and stronger materials used in manufacturing, structure tents offer the most protection one can get while still being in a tent.
- Structure tents are made from superior materials. The materials, such as coated vinyl fabric (instead of laminated fabric) and extruded aluminum beams (instead of simple aluminum tubing) provide a more secure and better looking tent. The superior materials also are more resistant to the effects of wear and tear, thereby ensuring a quality tent.

Wedding Venue Tour
Our big event was actually nine smaller events all wrapped up in the “Tour umbrella.” The first full day of the Tour, the event planners all headed to Shakespeare & Company bright and early to get on the road to tour the wedding venues. Several sites were toured that day, including The Mount, Ventfort Hall, Eastover, The Lenox Club, Winthrop Estates, Stonover Farm (am I forgetting someone?) in hopes of showing these wedding planners the many beautiful places in Lenox to hold a wedding (and this was just a sampling…aren’t we lucky??). Transportation was very generously provided by Abbott’s Limousine, with boxed lunches provided by The Marketplace Kitchen. Lisa Light and Ralph Petillo were our tour guides, with photographer John Dolan in tow to capture the whole day on film (or is it pixels now…haha). Take a look at his images, below, for a peek into just how much fun we had!
