There are a lot of smaller rental companies out there that seem to pop up like those little kiosks at the mall…they start out with a small line of tents, banquet tables and folding chairs, and figure they’re good to go! But at Classical Tents, we believe strongly in buying the best products available, having a huge selection and continuing to educate ourselves on the best ways to install our products for both safety and beauty. (Bet you never thought, “Gosh, I hope the poles stand up straight and the tent top doesn’t sag..!” or “How do they get their stage flooring level?” or “I hope they have a dolly with extra large wheels to bring stuff over my rough terrain!”)
That’s why we are members and active participants in associations like the American Rental Association, The Event (a trade show held by Events Magazine) and the Mid-Atlantic Tent Renters Association (or MATRA, of which Ben is a board member). When you work with Classical Tents, you’re working with professionals, and truly experts in our field. We’ve been around for 25 years and plan on being here for at least 25 more!
If you want to stay “in the know” about new items or happenings at Classical Tents, be sure to LIKE us on Facebook (Classical Tents) and FOLLOW us on Twitter (@renttents)!

Paper lanterns are a great way to add some “oomph” to your party! They’re affordable, come in any color you can think of, and add impact wherever you want it (i.e. hung all over your venue or just over specific areas like cake tables or dessert buffets). During the day, paper lanterns are beautiful just for their color alone, but when they’re lit at night, they cast a magical glow over your event. And depending on the colors you choose–and the overall theme of your wedding (or party)–paper lanterns can handle any style, from whimsical to elegant. At Classical Tents, we have a great selection of paper lanterns, in several colors and sizes (we find it works best to use multiple sizes at the same time to add more interest), and if you’re looking for something that we don’t have in stock, we are able to get whatever you need. We’ve assembled some images of paper lanterns, below, including a few new faves–hung from chairs as aisle markers, used as vases for centerpieces and dressed up like hanging bubble gum!

Whether you’re planning a wedding, a shower, or just about any kind of party, you’re probably aware that dessert buffets are all the rage. Made popular by event planner and author, Amy Atlas, these dessert displays can range from rustic chic to whimsical and everything in between. Using this as your dessert option gives guests more than just cake and ice cream to choose from, as many set-ups include tarts, cookies, cake pops, penny candies, mini-trifles…the possibilities are limitless (basically, all that’s required is SUGAR!)! If you’re planning an event and decide to try your hand at a dessert buffet, look no further than Classical Tents. We have everything you need, from the tables and linens, to pedestals, tiered stands, trays, bowls and more. Use your imagination and have fun! We’ve posted some of our favorite pics, below!

I thought about doing today’s post on ways to beat the heat at your summer wedding. I found some great images of summer drinks, popsicles, wedding programs made into fans, umbrellas…but let’s face it–unless I found one of a bunch of wedding guests sitting inside in front of the air conditioner, these probably wouldn’t be very convincing!
So instead, I thought I’d show you some pretty pics of winter weddings! NOT that I’m looking forward to winter AT ALL, but these did cool me down, at least for a bit! Enjoy!

We are so fortunate to live in an area rich in so many things–natural beauty, fine dining and shopping, close to both Boston and NYC and literally exploding with summer arts festivals! Whether you’re here for a week, a month, or if you live here year-round, you simply need to take advantage of the varying styles of creative expression. Berkshire Theatre Festival has recently merged with the Colonial Theatre to form the Berkshire Theatre Group. Shakespeare & Company is now in its 35th season, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival is celebrating its 80th, and Tanglewood will kick off its 75th season with some spectacular shows, including a special performance on July 2 by James Taylor with guest Taylor Swift! Not to mention the MANY other theatres, museums, trails, lakes and more…the Berkshires is truly never short on adventure!
