As you are probably already aware, Classical Tents is one of the major sponsors of the annual Lenox Wedding Tour–a scouting trip inviting luxury planners and bridal media to get a sampling of the Berkshires. One of our favorite parts of the Tour is the Table Design Challenge (which really isn’t a “challenge” at all…we just never got around to changing the name!). Each guest is invited to design a table scape, using props, rental items from Classical Tents, flowers by Seagroatt Riccardi and a great big dose of their own personalities! The designers are given a choice of “inspiration invitations” (this year, provided by The Pink Orange) around which to base their designs. What was amazing to me was that two or three of the planners chose the same invitation, yet their tables looked so incredibly different! A real eye-opener to the fact that everyone sees things differently!
Our Challenge was held in the Cranwell ballroom, and the place was literally transformed! It was such a joy to feel the creative energy that was buzzing around the room, and later that evening, we all had dinner at those very tables. It was a really neat way for the public (this event was open to the public for a fee) to catch a glimpse of what the Tour is all about.
Take a look at some of the images of the tables our guests designed. And remember, this is just a sampling! There will surely be much more to come!

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a hundred times…so much of our business stems from the wedding business! And this post goes right along with that whole “wedding” thing…especially since we’re 1) coming off one of our busiest wedding seasons EVER and 2) in the throes of our crunch time for the Lenox Wedding Tour, coming up November 12-15. Related to the Lenox Wedding Tour, a couple of things that have been weighing heavily on my mind lately are what to do about signage thanking our sponsors at each “mini” event, and how to uniquely mark each vendor’s booth at the Lenox Wedding Showcase Event & Cocktail Party (open to the public…for ticket information visit www.lenoxweddingtour.com). Then the other day, as I was pulling into my driveway, I saw that some of my beautiful birch tree branches had fallen, and I’d HATE to let them go to waste!
SO…..I started thinking about ways to combine the two, and began searching Pinterest for various ways to display table numbers (or in my case, vendor signs!). I found some really cool ideas, but my two favorites have to be the table number drinks that are served like a passed hors d’oeuvre, and the balloon numbers! How much fun are they?! Take a look at the images we’ve gathered. Do you have a fave? Are you doing something unique at your wedding? We’d love to hear about it!

Planning for the 2012 Lenox Wedding Tour is well underway, and we’re beginning to populate the booth space for our Lenox Wedding Showcase Event and Cocktail Party, happening Tuesday, November 13th from 6:oo-8:00 pm at Seven Hills Inn. This event is open for wedding industry purveyors in Berkshire County (meeting certain criteria), on a first-come, first-served basis. If you participated last year, be sure to reserve your booth space soon! We’ve been inundated with emails from new people wishing to participate, and we’d hate for you to lose your spot! Early bird registration is due by September 15, but we highly recommend you get in sooner than that. Visit www.lenoxweddingtour.com and print off your registration form, complete it, then fax it in to the number provided. We look forward to seeing you again this year!

Since last year’s Lenox Wedding Tour was such a huge success and so well received by all of the Berkshires’ top-notch wedding vendors, the committee has decided that this year we want to include brides! A portion of the Tour, the Lenox Wedding Showcase Event and Cocktail Party will be open to prospective brides for a nominal fee. We are confident that this will be beneficial to both the brides, who can consider it a “one-stop-shopping” kind of thing, and the wedding purveyors, alike. What an excellent networking opportunity! If you know someone who’s getting married and still needs to finalize her vendor selection, or wants to attend one of our mini-seminars during the event, please show them the invitation, below. Oh! And did we mention that there will also be engagement-photo mini-sessions?!
