As a rental company specializing in tent and goods rentals for weddings and big events, part of our job is to keep an eye on emerging trends. This, by the way, also happens to be one of our favorite parts of the job! When “rustic chic” was becoming a movement, we were among the first to provide you with farm-top tables and benches, burlap runners, grapevine balls for lighting, and so on. And if you recently heard that food trucks and chevron patterns were all the rage, you can surely bet that we’ve already covered it here (and probably added most of the trends to our rental inventory!).
At Classical Tents, we truly pride ourselves on our ability to spot the latest trends and act quickly to source out the items that you’re going to want for your next event. How do we do it? Well, for one thing, we have a staff that lives, eats and breathes “all-things-wedding” and as far as trends go, many of them keep cycling back around. But one of our favorite ways to stay on top of the trends is to follow several of the top wedding blogs. In fact, there’s actually a website that lists the top 100 wedding blogs, and many of our faves are on there. In addition to your tried-and-true Martha Stewart Weddings or Style Me Pretty sites, you’ll find blogs like Junebug Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes…and even a couple called Br0ke-Ass Bride and Bitchless Bride! 
And it’s always exciting to watch the success of our favorite online wedding sources…just telling us that we’re keeping an eye on the right crowd. Take Sweet Violet Bride, for example. This blog, showcasing nature-inspired brides, recently announced that they’re launching a new wedding magazine, in addition to the online presence! And we’re just tickled pink to see the beautiful, glossy pages that stem from this establishment!
So if you ever find yourself questioning if you should go with the fake mustaches or metallic, embossed wedding cakes, you can rest assured that if you hop on over to our blog, you’re quite likely to find your answer. Paper lanterns are a great way to add some “oomph” to your party! They’re affordable, come in any color you can think of, and add impact wherever you want it (i.e. hung all over your venue or just over specific areas like cake tables or dessert buffets). During the day, paper lanterns are beautiful just for their color alone, but when they’re lit at night, they cast a magical glow over your event. And depending on the colors you choose–and the overall theme of your wedding (or party)–paper lanterns can handle any style, from whimsical to elegant. At Classical Tents, we have a great selection of paper lanterns, in several colors and sizes (we find it works best to use multiple sizes at the same time to add more interest), and if you’re looking for something that we don’t have in stock, we are able to get whatever you need. We’ve assembled some images of paper lanterns, below, including a few new faves–hung from chairs as aisle markers, used as vases for centerpieces and dressed up like hanging bubble gum!

There are a lot of trends that come and go in the wedding/event industry and right now it’s looking like ghost chairs and crystal chandeliers are a huge hit! And while we have an enormous collection of wonderful wedding accessories, we can’t possibly keep everything in stock. HOWEVER, did you know? WE CAN GET YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT! We work closely with a network of event design companies all around the Northeast and regularly sub-rent items that discriminating brides request of us. Many of you, I’m sure, have by now been to at least one wedding where the beautiful (and colorful!) Japanese paper lanterns were hung from the ceiling. For quite some time now, this has been a popular and affordable way of really changing a venue’s (or tent’s) look, while adding lots of dimension and color. But recently, we’ve noticed that more couples are opting to hang various lanterns (rustic, metal, moroccan, etc.) instead. It’s kind of nice to see a variation on a tried and true form of ambient lighting!

You betcha! Seems like the number one, hottest color trend this year is ORANGE! From fashionable attire, to home decor and beyond, Orange is making quite a splash!
