As you are probably already aware, Classical Tents is one of the major sponsors of the annual Lenox Wedding Tour–a scouting trip inviting luxury planners and bridal media to get a sampling of the Berkshires. One of our favorite parts of the Tour is the Table Design Challenge (which really isn’t a “challenge” at all…we just never got around to changing the name!). Each guest is invited to design a table scape, using props, rental items from Classical Tents, flowers by Seagroatt Riccardi and a great big dose of their own personalities! The designers are given a choice of “inspiration invitations” (this year, provided by The Pink Orange) around which to base their designs. What was amazing to me was that two or three of the planners chose the same invitation, yet their tables looked so incredibly different! A real eye-opener to the fact that everyone sees things differently!
Our Challenge was held in the Cranwell ballroom, and the place was literally transformed! It was such a joy to feel the creative energy that was buzzing around the room, and later that evening, we all had dinner at those very tables. It was a really neat way for the public (this event was open to the public for a fee) to catch a glimpse of what the Tour is all about.

We’re so excited to announce that we’ve already begun plugging away at this year’s Lenox Wedding Tour (note the shorter name!). The Tour, which invites luxury event planners from around the globe, has been scheduled for November 12-15 and will include, once again (and by popular demand!) the Vendor Showcasing/Networking Event. If you live in the area (despite the name, this is NOT exclusive to Lenox vendors), own a wedding-industry related business (i.e. caterer, photographer, winery, venue, etc.), and would like to be included, please contact our office for more details. Last year, people raved about being given the opportunity to network with not only the amazing planners, but also other vendors in the area! Here’s what John Seakwood had to say:

For the last several months, in addition to our very busy wedding season, Kat has been toiling away on the Lenox Wedding Planner Tour, which took place November 7-10. Hundreds of hours and many (many!) more dollars went into making this event a great success. Together with the other committee members, we invited luxury event planners from around the country to come to the Berkshires for a fun-filled, all-expense-paid “working” tour (is being wined and dined really considered work??), showcasing the many amazing, historic venues located around town. This included places like Blantyre, Cranwell, Wheatleigh, Ventfort Hall, Shakespeare & Company, Stonover Farm, Appletree Inn, Edith Wharton’s The Mount, Eastover and many, many more. The event was sponsored by Crane & Co., Jane Iredale, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine and Destination Bride, and actually included nine events within the main event itself! We’ll have a TON of pictures to show you in the upcoming weeks (from celebrity photographers like John Dolan, John Seakwood, Scott Barrow and more!)…believe me, we’re just getting started!
