While the vintage look is nothing new to the wedding scene, it’s certainly a trend that is here to stay…at least for another season! But this new trend takes “vintage” to the max! Think Great Gatsby, Roaring 20′s, Art Deco…and you’ll create a wedding sure to make Daisy swoon!
From sweet, garden-party style soirees to the hoppin’ jazz bar parties where flappers entertained, these types of weddings will add so much depth to your standard ho-hum wedding decor! Beginning with Art Deco-inspired wedding invitations (think CeciNew York), brides will be inspired to create a whole 1020′s-esque theme…from bridesmaids’ flapper-style dresses to vintage, Daisy-style headpieces and everything else in between. I guess this is just our new way of paying homage to a fun-filled, super-stylish era.
Check out our images, below, of another 2013 wedding trend, and let us know how you’d feel about planning a 20′s style wedding!
Well, that’s not exactly the right title, I guess. I mean…who knows if birds even have weddings?
But another trend we’ve spotted for 2013 (along with many other wedding industry peeps…HAHA, get it? Peeps?) is birds, birds, birds. As I began pulling images to use from Pinterest, I realized, “Gosh, I could probably write a whole post on bird wedding cakes alone!” I couldn’t believe how many different styles there were out there…from mod bird cakes, to vintage bird cakes, “cutesy” bird cakes and everything in between. Birds are coming up everywhere for the upcoming season. On invitations, as centerpieces (bird cages are big, too, for next year), people are leaning more now towards tossing bird seed instead of rice… There are birds hanging from seating charts, origami birds strung from ceilings, and birds’ nests appearing anywhere from ring bearer pillows to brides’ heads! (Oh, yeah…remember the post we did about bold head pieces for 2013?)
How do you feel about the birds? Do you think it’s a trend you’d incorporate? Or do you think it’s for the birds? LOL
We’ve really been studying the trends lately for the upcoming (2013) wedding season, and this is one that just doesn’t seem to be going away. NOT that we’re complaining…brooch bouquets are actually really pretty! And since more and more brides are striving to make their big day a reflection of their personality (another trend of late), this is one sparkly detail that they just can’t overlook! How cool would it be to incorporate one of your grandmother’s special pins??
We went to our trusty, always-in-the-know friend, Pinterest, to grab some images that show exactly what we mean, and we noticed that there are several ways brides can put together one of these beautiful arrangements. Some brides opt for the bouquet-is-made-up-totally-of-jewels look, while others choose to craft fabric/ribbon flowers and attach the pins. Some make their bouquets romantic with just a touch of glimmer peaking out from the centers of lush garden roses, and others opt for a vibrant, retro-funky feel. Take a look at the photographs we found, below, and let us know what you think! Are you going for the glam with a little vintage bling? Or will you choose to stick with the tried-and-true?
Old, but worth another look (now that I’ve figured out how to embed it right into the body!). Be sure to call or stop by our showroom to take a peek at our ever-expanding collection of vintage china and rustic chic accessories!
Years ago, people thought of tents in mostly a practical sort of way. No, I’m not talking about camping tents. (although “shelter” is the basic premise in this way of thinking) We used to get all sorts of phone calls from parents hosting graduation parties, or friends hosting showers, whose main concern was having a tent that would keep guests from getting wet, should rain come their way.
These days, however, tents are chosen just as carefully as, say, the wedding dress. It’s one more (big!) design element, adding another touch of personality to the event. Some people want their tent to make a grand statement–and with our gorgeous sail cloth tents, a statement is certainly what they get!
Other people want their wedding, vows, or venue to take center stage. They prefer a tent that–while still elegant–blends in with it’s surroundings. And that was the case with the event seen here at the Mount.
So give us a call, no matter what your take on tents. We’ll help you choose the perfect one, according to your tastes and event design. At Classical Tents, we’ve “got you covered!”
